According to AySA data, 44% of water and sewer users belong to the low zonal area, 37% to the medium, and 20% to the high. In February 2025, there will be increases in rates, including the Technical Vehicle Verification (VTV) fee, which will rise from $44,175 to $53,819 until January 31, 2025, with an additional increase in February affecting both private drivers and commercial vehicles.
In the province, this adjustment was agreed upon with the mechanics' union and the dealerships, establishing that the cost of the VTV should be related to the basic salary of a category 1 worker, set at $906,600. The value of the technical verification will gradually increase to reach 7% of that salary in the coming months. Additionally, water and sewer rates will average $22,514 starting next month.
Regarding AySA bills in February 2025, a 1% increase will be applied for users in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. Households in CABA and Greater Buenos Aires located in the high, medium, and low zonal levels will pay specific rates for water and sewer without taxes.
The increase in VTV rates and basic services such as water and sewer occurs in a context where inflation in Argentina decreased in 2024. However, February will also bring adjustments in Technical Vehicle Verification for both the City and Province of Buenos Aires.
In addition to these increases, prepaid health companies have announced adjustments in premiums of up to 3.2%. Meanwhile, YPF raised the prices of gasoline and diesel nationwide, reflecting an average increase of 2% at service stations in the City of Buenos Aires. Increases in various areas, such as telephony, cable TV, and internet, are also expected at the beginning of February 2025.
